TOOOOOOO MUCH! AAAAARGH!
Last week I mentally melted into a pool of slushy sauce. My brain shut down and I just went to bed. Decision /cultural /brainwave / identity / language overload. Clean slate can be overwhelming! Too many decisions!
38 days until chilluns’ come for Christmas. Yea!!!! A solid target to shoot for! It’s a little unnerving, truly, when many of your known parameters are removed, your ‘pins in the map’ that tell your brain where you are and what you’re doing. If you think that’s silly, just trust me on this!
OK, so this was really bizarre! It’s a place in centre ville (center of town) that you can go to have Cat Therapy! Not therapy for cats – therapy for YOU! It’s a small store that serves tea and coffee and small bites, and there are 10 or so cats inside that you can hang out with. The cats are fat and lazy and apparently don’t mind being petted. I didn’t go in, but it was fascinating to watch through the window.
French Class is good – very hard for me – and I’m stretched to the max to keep up! I’m on the main campus of University of Clermont Avergne, in a class with eight other Michelin spouses (husbands AND wives). Methode Total immersion (NO-ENGLISH-AT-ALL). Tanner begins his instruction on November 29 — only his is one-on-one with a professeur on a totally different campus than mine. We’ll be back in the home-work-every-night business again soon! However, this is an incredible opportunity! Who gets to do this???
APARTMENT!!! Have the keys but no hot water yet! Several items need IMMEDIATE FIXING. However, can’t wait to show you everything in person. (hint, hint….) (Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Whatcha waitin’ for?)

Cannot believe how fortunate & blessed we are to get this apartment. (Ha ha – and I was whining about losing the other one. This one is so much better!) Two more nights of this current bed in the temp apartment, and my own pillows and mattress can’t come fast enough. Goodbye, living in suitcases since September! Movers are coming TOMORROW! If they really do lift the furniture up through the windows of a 5th floor apartment, then you can count on seeing pictures of THAT!
Oh, and parking will be good (by French standards), too —
