Julie, Julia and Mindy

My first – and maybe last – attempt at French baking.

I actually set off the fire alarm – didn’t even know we had one…

My cute little French hand-me-down Easy Bake oven is tiny.  It also apparently has one temperature, despite various numbers next to the knob!

Fortunately for YOU, we are learning our way around various restaurants and patisseries, so you won’t starve because of ME when you come! Other Randomness

And guess what!  I was at the mall today and actually saw someone I knew – AND remembered her name! That’s either an indication that we are getting settled or an indication of the small size of Clermont-Ferrand…whichever way you choose to interpret!

Tanner had his staples removed – so thankful his ticker is now quicker.  So this is interesting – not only do you choose the level of comforts you want at the hospital, a la carte, you also must purchase your own health supplies to remove your staples/stitches by the home health care nurse….gauze, betadine, and staple puller!  REALLY.   Now what do you do with something like that after it’s been used?  (Pinterest, anyone?)

Back to the problem of ‘word for word’ translation…I bought a rug, changed my mind, and went about the process of returning it.  The form, translated courtesy of Google, made me laugh out loud.

Hosted Bunco, introduced them to Left, Right, Center, and had too much food, as usual.  (I made sure I didn’t win this time.)  The group was comprised of British, Americans, Canadians, Vietnamese, French, and Indian.  And another Sooner!  🙂  A fun group – but it made me miss my home-girls!!!!

Next on the list….MUST tackle the STICK (as I haven’t driven a car in 86 days); head back over the Atlantic to the USA (maybe even this week – thank you, Brendan & Delta); map out the next outings…..Keukenhof, South Holland, The Netherlands     in April, Vienna   in May, and the Andalusia region of Spain (Malaga, Seville, Rock of Gibraltar) sometime after that.

And learn how to bake BUY a dessert for the slew of social reciprocating we need to do soon… hahahahaha.  (See earlier post about serving corn dogs!)

Stay warm…and dry…

Mindy

I CAN tell you this – some soil that may be wanting seeds is becoming evident to me. Mark 4:And He was saying, “He who has ears to hear, [a]let him hear.”
